How to be a Better You

Posted by SOTONYE AFIESIMAMA on June 28, 2014 in Personal Development |

I am a firm believer in the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen or continuous improvement. My philosophy is that to be a better you, you have to take deliberate steps because if you’re not making progress, you’re retrogressing; there’s no neutral ground in life.

Mastering a few important skills, can lead to a massive leap in your earning power and well-being.

These are the main skills you’ll need to acquire if this is your desire:

1. List Your Goals

Writing our goals down is the first logical step towards achieving them. Studies have shown that if your desire is to be a better you, you’ll need to write down your goals, you have a far better chance of achieving them than if you don’t.

2. Maintain Positive Friendships

It goes without sayng that this is also a very important factor in your success. You need people around you who resonate within your frequency; who challenge you and who you’re accountable to. Some so-called friends will drain you. You don’t need dream-stealers.

3. Take Care of You

You’ll need to eat right, exercise right, take time off work, challenge yourself mentally and spiritually and sleep right if it’s your desire to excel in life. Neglecting any of these will take it’s toll on you eventually and may prevent you from reaching your ultimate goal – whatever that is.

These are the main skills that need to be mastered in order to be a better you and attain mastery over yourself for it is in self-mastery that you can take charge of your tomorrow.
